Will you use the same transit card for every ride?
Quick questions
Do I really need to tap out on buses?
Yes — tap out before getting off, especially if you might transfer. Missing the tap-out can break your transfer discount and may add an extra fare.
Can two people share one T-money card?
No. Transfer discounts are per person, per card. Use one card per person for the whole route.
What happens after 5 rides?
Transfer discounts are generally accepted up to 4 transfers / 5 boardings. A 6th ride is usually charged as a new trip.
What if I transfer after the time limit?
You can still ride normally, but the next ride may be treated as a new trip rather than a discounted transfer.
This tool is a practical visitor guide, not a live fare calculator. Rules may vary by city, card type, route, and transport operator. When in doubt, tap out and use the same card.
